Keltbray has been appointed to deliver remediation works on Berkeley Group's Oval Village Scheme.
Works will include site wide remediation and refurbishment of the iconic Gasholder No 1.
Oval Village is next to the famous Oval International Cricket Ground, one of the only two Cricket Grounds in Central London and home to the Surrey County Cricket Club.
The development is a former gasworks site, with one of the gasworks structures awarded heritage-II listed status which will be blended in the architecture within the masterplan.
The full scope of key remediation services Keltbray will provide include:
• Bulk excavation, obstruction removal (incl. gasholder wall demolition) and filling
• Material processing and re-use, to form development platform/s
• Offsite disposal of surplus / unsuitable material
• Sheet piling including soil loosening and UXO mitigation
• Capping beam construction
• Gasholder No.1 refurbishment (capping beam and columns)
• Verification and reporting
Keltbray will also be in charge of providing extensive environmental monitoring to ensure that any odour, dust, or noise emissions are monitored and appropriately controlled.
Keltbray is currently on site and is due to complete the work towards the end of 2022.
