Work Starts On £3.7m Care Home In Stockport

Exemplar Health Care has started construction for its new £3.7million care home in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Exemplar Health Care is one of the UK's leading providers of specialist nursing care that focuses on maximising independence and empowering those living with complex needs to live as fulfilled lives as possible. The new home, Adswood Lodge, will be Exemplar Health Care’s fourth home in the Greater Manchester region, and is due to open early 2023 – creating 150 stable jobs for the local area.

The home will specialise in supporting people living with dementia, acquired brain injury, complex mental health conditions and physical disabilities. Each of the 30 bedrooms will come with an en-suite wet room, and the building will feature high quality, spacious communal spaces, sensory and therapy room and landscaped gardens, for residents and visitors to enjoy. The home will also have its own trained in-house team of nursing specialists and therapeutic team so that people living with complex needs can access holistic care in a community-based home.

Charlotte Lloyd, Developments Director at Exemplar Health Care, commented: "We're excited to report that work on our brand-new home in Stockport has begun, and that it will provide a variety of jobs to the area, including administrative, domestic, nursing, catering, and caring roles.

"Our goal is to support people in and around Stockport who are living with a range of complex conditions and are misplaced or remain in hospital settings often for over 2 years and far away from home, due to the shortage of specialist nursing homes in the area.

"Adswood Lodge will provide nurse-led care, with a full multi-disciplinary team including a Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapist, and with the home bosting a wide range of communal, therapy, and sensory spaces which supports and enables people to live close to home, regain their independence and everyday living skills, and, where possible, return to their community homes."
