M Group Services has acquired Babcock International Group PLC's £75m overhead line power business.

Babcock's Overhead Line Power business is a leading operator in the niche, technically-challenging, overhead line electric transmission and distribution industry that lies at the heart of the UK's transition to Net-Zero. It is trusted to deliver high quality outputs while maintaining the highest safety standards to clients including National Grid, Scottish Power Energy Networks and Western Power Distribution.

Following the acquisition, the business will be rebranded to form part of Morrison Energy Services, sitting alongside and enhancing existing electricity, gas and green energy capabilities, within M Group Services' Energy division. As the latest addition to the growing number of businesses forming the Group, the overall service offering continues to expand and now includes a number of technically advanced businesses.
