Godwin Developments Reaches Practical Completion On New Stores In Stoke-On-Trent

Construction News Image
Godwin Developments has reached practical completion on two new stores for Costa Coffee and Greggs in Stoke-On-Trent.

The development, which was fully pre-let in September, consists of an 1,800 sq. ft. drive thru unit for coffee operator Costa Coffee and a 1,162 sq. ft. unit, which will be occupied by national bakery chain Greggs. Located on Baths Road in Longton, off the A50 connecting Stoke-on-Trent and Uttoxeter, the scheme is surrounded by a mix of existing retail, fast food and grocery offerings. The site has daily passing traffic of more than 60,000 vehicles and with over 55,000 people also living within a 10-minute drive, it is ideally located for both local residents and commuters in the region.

Costa Coffee has already commenced the fit-out of their unit, with the first customers expected to be welcomed through the doors before Christmas and Greggs has also begun work to complete their store. The EV Network will also provide six fast-charge hubs, which will be operational in early 2022.

Ketan Patel, construction associate at Godwin Developments said: "We are extremely pleased to have reached this significant milestone at our Stoke-on-Trent development and are excited to see both Costa Coffee and Greggs progressing their fit outs at pace so that they can begin serving customers as soon as possible. Demand for food-to-go offerings nationwide has experienced a significant rise in recent months and we are delighted to once again be able to support our commercial partners in expanding their presence across the country.

"I'd like to express my appreciation to the on-site team from Intium Construction, who have worked quickly to complete the construction in just eight months despite industry-wide challenges. We look forward to seeing the units fully branded and open to the public soon."
