McGee Selected For The Acre

Construction News Image
McGee has been appointed on The Acre, a landmark office building in the heart of Covent Garden, by development managers Platform.

McGee was selected early in the design process for pile testing, soft strip and enabling works. As a result of this early engagement and active collaboration with the client team, as the design progressed, the benefits of McGee's integrated offering were realised. McGee has subsequently been appointed for demolition, piling and RC works.

With self-delivery at the core of its value proposition, McGee, an employee-owned business, will use its in-house capabilities, including its construction engineering team and extensive plant and haulage fleet. Working this way means it can efficiently deliver the works and add value by creating best-for-project solutions, truly managing project risks and delivering certainty.

Seb Fossey, Group Managing Director, said: "I'm exceptionally proud of the McGee team working on this exciting central London scheme, who have drawn upon our experience of delivering complex engineering projects in the heart of the city to deliver a high-value solution to the client. I look forward to delivering these works with Platform and the rest of the client team."
