Construction firm Kier has reached practical completion at Aviva Investors Eleven York Street office scheme in Manchester's central business district.
Kier Property purchased the entire freehold of this central Manchester scheme, originally known as Oddfellows House from Aberdeen Asset Management in November 2016 and Aviva Investors agreed a forward funding deal to acquire the freehold interest in February 2018.
Eleven York Street is an exceptionally high profile, prime office development, designed by AHR Architects. It is seen as the final piece of Manchester’s prime space for the Spring Gardens, York Street and Fountain Street area.
Following Aviva Investors acquisition almost four years ago it has continued to work in partnership with Kier Property and its contractor, Kier Construction, to deliver the Grade A new build office building of approximately 79,000 sq ft, with floor plates of between 10,200 sq ft and 11,600 sq ft, two retail units and a business lounge at ground floor level totalling 5,300 sq ft.
Henry Martin, senior development manager for Kier Property commented: "11 York Street is a best in class office building offering fantastic Grade A accommodation and amenities in the heart of Manchester’s CBD. The Manchester office market is the strongest performing regional city in the UK and 11 York Street is well positioned to capitalise on this as a wide range of occupiers continue to grow and establish themselves in the City."
