Newport Council has awarded GD Environmental to clear waste which has been illegally fly-tipped on the former LG access road in Coedkernew.
The move comes after two Cardiff men caught illegally dumping waste on the site were successfully prosecuted and fined at Newport Magistrates' Court.
The council has also issued a further five fixed penalty notices for fly-tipping offences and seized two vehicles involved in offences.
Tyres and hazardous materials will be removed from the site first. Other waste will then be removed and taken away for sorting so that as much can be recycled as possible.
Enhanced security and CCTV will remain in place at the site once it has been cleared to prevent further illegal fly-tipping.
The council is also working with a local community group, Friends of the Road to Nature, on plans to further improve the area once the clearance has been completed.
