Galliford Try has scooped three new projects across its West and East Midlands business units.
The Building West Midlands and South West business has concluded a contract to refurbish the Stonebow Unit for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, which cares for Adult, Older Adult and Dementia patients. The £10.4 million project is a blend of new build extensions and refurbishment of existing buildings in order to provide single ensuite bedroom facilities for all service users.
The building has been designed to improve all areas including the therapy wards and garden spaces with new landscaping to existing courtyards and gardens areas. It incorporates the latest innovation and therapy perspective, including interlinked wards, which are adaptable depending on the patients’ requirements.
Meanwhile, the Building East Midlands team has been appointed to construct the new endoscopy decontamination unit at Glenfield Hospital on behalf of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The new £5.7m unit aims to improve existing services by centralising the decontamination facilities into a single, state-of-the-art location, with increased cleaning capacity, service resilience and potential for future expansion.
In addition, Building East Midlands has won a contract with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Trust, to provide new hybrid theatre for the vascular surgery department at the Royal Derby hospital. The £2.9m theatre will improve care for people with serious or life-threatening conditions, and will be built alongside new staff, utility and administration facilities.
