The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 came into force and reduced the noise threshold at which occupational noise must be addressed in the workplace.
Too much noise exposure may cause a temporary change in hearing or a temporary ringing in your ears. These short-term problems usually go away within a few minutes or hours after leaving the affected area of noise. A noise risk assessment is required to identify the activities that may expose your employees to significant noise levels.
