Crest Nicholson Unveils New Homes At Its Bristol Development

Construction News Image
Crest Nicholson has unveiled a new collection of three and four bedroom house types at its Bristol development, Hygge Park at Keynsham.

The range is ideal for the modern-day purchaser, featuring a number of measures designed to deliver environmental benefits.

Located between Bristol and Bath, Hygge Park takes its inspiration from the Danish 'Hygge' concept of comfort and wellbeing. The innovative development prioritises flexible layouts, open living spaces and natural light, while open green spaces can be found throughout the development.

The new house types have been meticulously designed to reduce unnecessary angles and ensure that all terrace units align, with the same overall lengths front to back. This improves their ability to retain heat and reduces the energy required to keep a home warm. The efficient design also reduces material waste on site and the time it takes to build a home.

Hygge Park also features a range of initiatives to support biodiversity across the development, including a specially designed 'hedgehog highway'. This allows the vulnerable species to safely roam between gardens and helps them avoid roads. Nesting boxes have also been installed on site to support a variety of bat and bird species, as well as a bug mansion.

The new three bedroom Chesham, Evesham and Hatfield house types are perfect for those looking to take their first or next step onto the property ladder, with two double bedrooms and a third perfect for a home office. While the four bedroom Dorking, Hexham, Malborough and Romsey all offer an open-plan dining and family area with a separate living room, providing extra space for growing families.

Mark Kershaw, Head of Sustainability at Crest Nicholson, commented: "Our new range of house types help us to improve thermal efficiency, minimise waste and speed up construction, helping to reduce our impact on the environment whilst helping homeowners to lead more sustainable lives. As one of the top 300 companies in Europe to have substantially reduced its greenhouse gas emission intensity since 2014, Crest Nicholson is committed to cutting its carbon footprint and is actively engaging with industry leaders and the government to provide a more sustainable future. We are continually looking for ways to reduce waste and energy consumption in our operations."
