Gilbert & Goode Acquires Housing Site In Devon

Construction News Image
Gilbert & Goode has acquired its first housing site in Devon.

St Austell-based Gilbert & Goode has bought three acres in the west Devon village of Folly Gate, near Okehampton, with plans to build a total of 23 homes.

Gilbert & Goode's land consultant, Ashley Bower, said: "This is such a fantastic location for our first Gilbert & Goode development in Devon. Our team has previously worked on projects in the county as a contractor for other developers, though this will be the first development which we can call our own.

"The site is situated to the south of the village with direct access to the A386, and the village pub is just a short walk from the site entrance. Okehampton is the nearest major town which will provide essential living services including schools, shops, doctors and employment.

"There are spectacular views which will be a real selling point of this scheme. The homes will have a rural feel and benefit from plenty of space and gardens, perfect for family living."

Subject to planning approval, work is forecast to begin on site in autumn 2022, with the show home opening in spring 2023.
