K9 Protection Ltd To Achieve Top Industry Accreditation

Construction News Image
K9 Protection Ltd have recently been granted acceptance on to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).

Being an ACS approved vendor demonstrates to prospective clients that the business has robust tried and tested policies and procedures in place and operates within the codes of practice. Upon application to the scheme, a rigorous external audit of the business had to be carried out, along with an investigator from the SIA carrying out spot checks at client sites to ensure that K9 Protection’s standard of work meets with the requirements of the scheme.

Paul Green, Operations Director of K9 Protection says of the accreditation, said: "We mulled over applying for the accreditation for many years before actually proceeding and I'm glad we finally did. This achievement is testament to the hard work of our team. We have always been a procedure-led business and as such the changes we needed to make in order to become compliant were relatively minor, and as such the accreditation is a validation for me that we’re doing things the right way."

The ACS scheme evaluates the business as a whole, ensuring that staff are effectively screened as part of the recruitment process and that the services being provided are being done so legally by licensed individuals and in a manner that’s safe for both the security operatives and members of the public involved. Along with a proprietary management system that effectively manages the day-to-day operations, Green stated that "much of our success can be attributed to documenting the business from day one; from the earliest stage 10 years ago, we wrote down what we wanted to do, and how it needed to be done, and as it turns out this organic process forms the large part of the requirement of the ACS standard".
