Homeowners seeking to install solar panels on their roofs can benefit from up to £1,000 off the purchase price through a limited time offer from renewable electricity provider E.ON.
The offer comes as recent research from E.ON reveals that around half (48%) of British people say life in lockdowns has made them more conscious about how to run their home more efficiently. More than one in ten (14%) say they've installed or considered installing solar panels to make their home more sustainable and to enable them to generate their own electricity.
Chris Lovatt, Chief Operating Officer of E.ON Energy Infrastructure Services, said: "We've all been at home far more than usual over the past year and a half, and it’s positive that so many people are now wanting to run their homes more efficiently. And that’s where we can help.
"As a leader in smarter home energy solutions, we're always keen to ensure our products and services are as attractive and accessible as they can be. With our latest money-off offer, we want to encourage homeowners who may be mulling over the idea of getting solar panels to take action now – helping them produce their own renewable power and lower their energy bills, while also helping the nation meet our net zero by 2050 target."
People taking up the offer could save up to £1,000 off an E.ON solar panel package, including installation, prices start from £3,9954 for a typical eight panel (2.6kW) solar system. A 5% discount will be applied to the total cost of the system and installation at the time of the quote. The total amount saved will depend on the type of system installed on the property.
The offer is available to new solar customers only and applicants do not need to be an E.ON or E.ON Next energy customer to apply.
