Fairhaven Housing Association has been granted planning permission to build a further eight two-bedroom bungalows at its Crownlee development in Penwortham, Preston.
The project, scheduled to commence in August 2021, will deliver high quality retirement properties for people aged over 55.
Crownlee already enjoys an excellent reputation as one the leading retirement housing sites in Preston and the surrounding area. Not only can it boast to be one of the first dedicated retirement bungalow complexes in the country, but the appeal and charm of the original design has stood the test of time. The development currently enjoys such demand that the existing 40 bungalows often sell without entering the market.
The site boasts a private community centre, which as part of the project, will receive significant investment to upgrade its communal and restaurant facilities. In addition to which residents have the benefit of dedicated scheme management.
The quiet suburban location provides excellent local amenities and the bungalows sit within open, well-manicured communal gardens and expansive lawns.
Fairhaven have worked in conjunction with leading architects, Cassidy + Ashton, who have provided their expertise in respect of bungalow design and securing planning consent. It is fitting that Cassidy and Ashton worked on this project as they were responsible for the original design of Crownlee.
