ENGIE has scooped a £28million deal with Sanctuary to deliver 150 new homes in Witham, Essex.
The properties at the Southfields site – located on Conrad Road – will comprise apartments, bungalows and two to five-bedroomed houses, and will be available for sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.
In addition, the local community is set to benefit further through Sanctuary's MORE! programme.
The initiative sees Sanctuary working alongside development partners to support important community projects in the areas where homes are being constructed, by donating skills, resources and equipment.
At Southfields, the first community venture has already taken place through a donation of computer equipment to a local school. Support will also be focused on recruiting local labour and creating apprenticeship opportunities.
Dan Germann, Managing Director for ENGIE's Places and Communities South, said: "Sanctuary has been a key partner for us for many years, so we are thrilled to be working with them once again and helping to bring this much anticipated scheme to life."
The properties will be delivered in five phases between the end of 2022 and summer 2023.
