Metnor Construction has been selected to develop a £50 million apartment development in Birmingham.
The High Street Group selected the company for the build-to-rent apartments to be built on the site known as Westminster Works in the Digbeth area of the city.
Metnor will embark on the 24 month build programme later this month and is expected to be complete in Q4 2022.
The 220 build-to-rent apartment development is located in a vibrant neighbourhood within a £1 billion regeneration zone less than a mile from Birmingham’s New Street Station.
Featuring a mix of one and two-bedroom open plan apartments configured around a central courtyard, the eight-storey building will offer a concierge service, and residential gym along with car parking and cycle storage.
Westminster Works marks the first development project between The High Street Group and Metnor Construction. Metnor has designed and built a range of modern, high specification, multi-room developments across the UK, delivering more than 4,600 bedrooms with additional accommodation services.
The development is part of an extensive £1 billion Gross Development Value portfolio of projects being delivered by the High Street Group, creating new sustainable communities in key locations across the UK. In addition to developments in Manchester and Newcastle, The High Street Group has a particular focus on Birmingham. In addition to Westminster Works, has an extensive pipeline of other large residential developments within regeneration areas in Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle.
