Plans to build over 100 new homes have been given the green light by Salford City Council.
The council submitted the application to its own planning panel and the 104 new homes will now be built on vacant land at three sites in the city.
Each site will consist of 100% affordable homes to meet local demand.
The homes will be built at Clifton Green in Pendlebury, Ryall Avenue and Brassington Avenue in Ordsall.
Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said: "In Salford we are pushing ahead with our priority of providing more affordable homes to meet local demand. This is a key priority of mine and something are driving forwards.
"We are in the middle of a housing crisis and need to provide more than 600 affordable homes a year to meet the current need.
"In particular local people need one bedroomed apartments and thanks to this successful application today those type of apartments will be available soon."
