SES Engineering Services has been chosen to provide a full range of MEP design and installation services on a student accommodation scheme in York.
Working on behalf of main contractor and part investor, GRAHAM, SES will provide its services, from RIBA Stage 3, on 730 student bedrooms at the University of York's £130m Heslington East Campus.
Construction work has started on the North side of the campus and forms part of the wider investment the university is making across the whole campus to increase its volume of student accommodation. In addition to the bedrooms, there will be a central hub providing reception facilities and communal spaces.
Designed to meet BREEAM Very Good, SES will contribute to this aim by maximising its offsite prefabrication capabilities using Prism, its bespoke in-house manufacturing facility in Coventry.
Speaking about this latest contract win, Steve Joyce, SES' Managing Director, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to build on our previous success with GRAHAM and to be working on such a key accommodation scheme for the university. SES has a proven track record in the sector with over 8,000 student bedrooms delivered to date by teams in the North. We look forward to supporting the university as it continues to develop the Heslington East Campus."
