Sika has been named as one of this year's nominees at the Contract Flooring Journal/ Contract Flooring Association (CFJ/CFA) Awards.
The firm has been shortlisted with Zircon Flooring Limited for its work refurbishing a CNN TV studio in London. The project will compete in the 'Flooring in Industrial Spaces' category.
For the refurbishment, Sikafloor supplied the high-quality flooring system – Sikafloor® MultiDur ES-24 ECF – that resulted in the studio being furnished with a super-flat, super-smooth waterproof surface to uphold operations at one of the world's most-watched news services.
Bill Woodham at Sika, said: "This is extremely good news. The CFJ/CFA Awards are respected throughout the industry, therefore a ringing endorsement of the superb work carried out during the CNN project. This was a true joint effort, with Zircon making wonderful use of our high-performance flooring solutions."
For the CNN studio floor refurbishment, Zircon's challenge was to deliver a durable, resin-based anti-static floor with a tolerance of +/-1mm over a 3-metre straight edge, a reading which far exceeds the British Standard.
Despite encountering a number of logistical challenges at the BREEAM site, the floor installation was completed to the client's one-month deadline.
Bill Woodham at Sika, added: "This was an extremely high-profile project, and our excellent working relationship with Zircon Flooring was key to its success. To have been shortlisted among the finalists in this esteemed award is a great achievement."
The final of this year's CFJ/CFA Awards will be held on Friday 19 June at Coombe Abbey, Warwickshire.
