A new neighbourhood retail centre in Pineham, Northampton, has reached completion ahead of welcoming its first customers next month.
Developer Godwin has begun handover to its occupants after contractor Winvic Construction completed the scheme in February 2020.
The 1.1-acre site, which was acquired in the second quarter of 2018, provides much needed local retail and amenity facilities next door to the newly built Dragon Fly Meadows residential site, containing 550 homes. The centre is also situated opposite the new Pineham Barns Primary School. It will serve the adjoining Prologis Park and the wider distribution and industrial centre just off Junction 15A of the M1.
The development, measuring just under 13,000 sq ft, is the first of its kind in this newly created community. Leases of two units, measuring 4,000 sq ft and 6,000 sq ft, have already been agreed with national retailer, Co-op Midcounties and local nursery provider, Blossom Tree Day Nursery, and a third unit measuring 1,000 sq ft is also under offer. The Nursery will be welcoming parents and children to its new premises in April 2020, while the Co-op's unveiling has been planned for the summer.
Matt Chandler, Associate Director at Godwin said: "We are delighted to have completed the four units, two of which have leases signed with new tenants, and a third is under offer. This development further strengthens Godwin's track record in the delivery of quality retail schemes in several regions across the UK. I am confident that both local residents and businesses in the vicinity will benefit from the proximity of essential services, which will allow the centre to thrive."
He added: "At Godwin we are always on the lookout for opportunities to acquire land suitable for redevelopment. We work with landowners and agents to unlock value as well as enhance local communities through residential and commercial developments. We invite any interested party that may have land for sale to call our development team for a no obligation discussion on 0121 516 9508."
