Essex County Council Unveils £400m Construction Programme

BAM has been announced as one of the successful contractors on Essex County Council's £400m construction programme.

The Essex Construction Framework 2 (ECF2) comes into force this month and will run for four years.

Darren Birch, BAM's Framework Manager, said: "We look forward to working with the Essex framework's team; sharing knowledge, best practice and lessons learned to help drive continuous improvement for all of us. A major aspect of the framework is meeting the demand for new school places, which our experience, collaborative approach and expertise are highly suited to. The framework will be a brilliant way to boost not only the county's educational facilities, but to use the opportunity that construction brings to improve the lives of others along the way."

BAM is allowed to tender for projects valued over £4m, along with seven other contractors.

The firm has recently built the new multi-storey car park at Stansted Airport, and has worked on Essex projects such as Harlow UTC (University Technical College) and the Cardiothoracic Centre in Basildon.
