GMI Construction Group has been appointed to construct a new almost 200,000 sq ft building on behalf of Harrier Park partners, leading urban regeneration specialist, Muse Developments and Rolls-Royce, together with new occupier RM Educational Resources.
Leading educational resource supplier, RM Educational Resources, agreed a deal in January to move their UK headquarters to the 195,840 sq ft building at the scheme, following a period of sustained growth.
RM is a leading supplier of technology and resources to the education sector, supporting schools, teachers and pupils across the globe – from pre-school to higher education – including examination boards, central governments and other professional institutions.
Dan Needham, development director at Muse Developments, said: "It's a proud milestone for everyone involved at Harrier Park. It's also a great opportunity to bring partners together and we look forward to working with RM, GMI and Rolls-Royce as the scheme progresses.
"We firmly believe that we're delivering an innovative development here, which blends together commercial space and employment opportunities, alongside a mixture of vibrant homes to suit everyone, amenities, infrastructure improvements, and open space for the community to enjoy.
"Harrier Park, is part of a long-term partnership between Rolls-Royce and urban regeneration specialist, Muse Developments, that will bring nearly one million sq ft of employment space, alongside hundreds of new homes and community facilities built on surplus land alongside the Rolls-Royce Aerospace supply chain plant off Watnall Road."
Monique Louis, managing director at RM Resources, said: "It is an exciting time within RM Resources – this marks the investment in the future growth of the business, enable us all to be in one site, using new technology and systems to enable us to compete with not only the traditional suppliers in the market, but also with those who only have an online offering. We look forward to working with Muse and GMI to make this successful development that supports the local community and our colleagues."
Lee Powell, divisional managing director at GMI Construction Group, added: "We're delighted to be continuing our strong relationship with Muse and starting work on this exciting project at Harrier Park. We're proud to play a part in such an innovative development and are looking forward to working with RM and Rolls-Royce as the project progresses."
