One of the UK's largest busbar projects has officially reached completion at a fulfilment centre in Milton Keynes.

VolkerFitzpatrick installed and energised over 5km of 630 to 1,250-amp busbar at Plot 520 Magna Park. This will help feed the centre's state-of-the-art automated mechanical handling equipment.

Plot 520 will be an omnichannel distribution centre, capable of receiving, processing and dispatching goods ordered from retail units in London, the South and South-West.

The VolkerFitzpatrick team is now installing 60km of sprinkler pipework, 33km of lighting trunking, 19km of electrical containment and 14,000 LED light fittings at the facility.

Matt Goodier, project manager for VolkerFitzpatrick, said: "I am delighted that we have been able to take on the challenge of completing such a large and complex busbar project, as part of our work at Plot 520. The team has collaborated closely with stakeholders throughout, to ensure a high-quality delivery."
