Electricians have different core drilling needs to plumbers but tend to be offered the same diameters in core drill kits. Abrasives World has now compiled a diamond core drill kit specifically for electrical installation work.
Key to making these kits ideal for electricians are two extended barrel diamond core bits with a length of 400mm. This will get through most double walls from one side. Traditional core drills have had a restricted depth as the adaptors are wider than the cored hole, hence limiting their ability to get right through the wall. The 22mm and 32mm sizes will suit most conduit pipes.
The kit also includes 42mm, 107mm and 162mm in 150mm barrels, which do have a further reach using an extension adaptor (also supplied). These meet the installation requirements of larger conduit and armoured cable as well 4" and 6" extractor fans, which are required in bathroom and kitchens.
The diamond core bits are from the Right Lines 'Lazer' range which have premium diamond tips and durable laser welded diamond segments. The core barrels have spiral dust tracks for more efficient drilling. The kit is completed with an SDS adaptor, guide drill and canvas tool bag, big enough to comfortably accommodate the extended barrel core bits.
The whole kit is on the Abrasives World website at £175.00 + VAT, offering a great saving of around 20% off the price of buying the components separately.
