ENGIE Sets Record In Sustainable FM Index

Construction News Image
ENGIE has set a new record in the Sustainable FM Index (SFMI) after securing first place for the third time.

This prize places ENGIE as the first company to win both three times and two years in row.

SFMI auditors praised ENGIE's Responsible Business Charter, which has had a demonstrable influence on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards throughout the company, as well as the company's commitment to future proofing the business by ensuring the right capabilities, skills and behaviours are in place.

The SFMI is run by sustainability consultancy Acclaro Advisory and is the only sustainability benchmark for the UK FM sector.

Chris Havers, programme director of the SFMI for Acclaro Advisory, commented: "We would like to congratulate ENGIE for winning the SFMI Awards for a second straight year. This feat demonstrates the organisation's incredible commitment to sustainable FM and should act as a benchmark for any other FM service providers that have serious ambitions around their own sustainable development.

"The level of accountability that ENGIE has fostered within its teams through responsible business KPIs, a scrutiny board and its sustainability framework is an example that others can follow."

Nicola Lovett, CEO of ENGIE UK & Ireland, added: "We are delighted to again receive this acknowledgement recognising our continued commitment to placing sustainable performance at the heart of our business. I would like to thank our employees for their ongoing focus to drive sustainable change and long-term value within ENGIE and for our customers, helping to balance performance with responsibility as we transition to a zero carbon world."
