Young schoolchildren in Lincolnshire have discovered the range of options available within the construction industry at a recent event.
The Lincoln Group Training Association (LGTA), in conjunction with Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and Lincolnshire & Rutland EBP (education business partnership) welcomed more than 500 students to the event at the Lincolnshire Showground.
The children, from local primary and secondary schools, enjoyed free showcase sessions designed to provide hands-on experience of construction activities like Health & Safety, planning and engineering.
VINCI staff Luke Watson, Paul Doherty, Claire Snoddon and Eddie Parker hosted eight sessions of construction experience over the two days, with an exercise designed to get children thinking about the construction sequence and the importance of planning activities correctly.
Steve Taylor, Group Training Officer from the organisers LGTA, said: "Hopefully the event will inspire the next wave of new-entrants into the industry."
