National contractor Galliford Try is set to partner with engineering consultancy Sweco on two major road schemes.
Both companies will work to deliver upgrades worth £435 million along the A47 corridor improvement programme between Norwich and Peterborough and the Sparkford to Ilchester dualling scheme along the A303 corridor in Somerset.
These contracts form part of Highways England's £8.7 billion Regional Delivery Partnerships framework.
Sweco will act as chief designer on both schemes through its teams based across the UK, including Leeds, Edinburgh, Solihull and Bristol.
John Owens, Director of Major Projects at Sweco UK & Ireland, said: "Our appointment to these two key schemes underlines the significant experience and expertise we can deliver to reduce congestion, cut journey times and improve safety for local communities.
"As an integrated team, we will be working with our long-term partner Galliford Try and our wider supply chain to change the highways sector and drive greater efficiencies and improvements in productivity, delivering the key aspirations of the Regional Delivery Partnership.
"The framework will play a vital role in enhancing the UK's road network and alongside Galliford Try, we look forward to providing the infrastructure enhancements the country needs."
Nick Culshaw, operations director at Galliford Try Highways, added: "The appointment underlines the strategic importance of highways to our construction business and in Sweco, we have a design partner that will enable us to deliver infrastructure programmes that will bring huge benefit to the UK's road users."
