London Mayor Opens New Phoenix Concert Hall

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan has visited the site of the new Phoenix Concert Hall and Ashcroft Theatre to open the development.

Mr Khan was joined by Mayor and Mayoress of Croydon as well as other local dignitaries to officially open the building last week, Monday 16 September.

A number of activities took place before the building was formally handed over to Neil Chandler, Director of BH Live.

Dame Judy Dench was also a guest of honour to unveil a mosaic made up of photos of local people to the image of Dame Peggy Ashcroft. There were speeches and a performance by the Mozart Players.

The new Phoenix Concert Hall and Ashcroft Theatre was delivered on time by national firm VINCI Construction.
