Kier Celebrates Success At Construction Manager Of The Year Awards

Kier is celebrating its success at this year's Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA), with five employees picking up a medal at the London event.

Held at the Grosvenor House hotel, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) annual awards celebrate the very best construction managers in the UK across 11 different categories.

Gold medals for Kier went to Jason Hartnell for his work at Middlesbrough Town Hall and Nick Donovan for his work at 33 Foley Street, London. Matt Davis also took home a gold award in the Healthcare category for his work on the Greenwood Centre in Camden.

Jason Bowen was awarded a silver medal for his work at Trago Mills in Wales and Kevin Knight walked away with the same accolade for his work at Maria Fidelis School, London.

Peter Young group managing director at Kier Construction, said: "I am delighted to see the talent and commitment of our project managers recognised at these prestigious awards. Across Regional Building, at any one time we have more than 250 projects in delivery, requiring meticulous attention to detail, supply chain management and customer engagement. It is great to see this recognised by our peers and the wider construction community."

CIOB chief executive Caroline Gumble commented: "The Construction Manager of the Year competition has always been about highlighting the best of leadership and talent in our sector. All of the CMYA medallists this year have been incredibly impressive and I want to congratulate them. Each and every one has undertaken a project that has made a difference not just to their clients but to their communities and, by demonstrating the best of what we as an industry can do, to the wider construction community."
