The Department for Transport (DfT) have announced that smart infrastructure solutions company Costain has been selected as a prime supplier on its newest technical and commercial advisory support framework.
The Specialist Technical and Commercial Advice for Rail and Other Transport Modes (STAR Two) Framework was formally launched on 30 May 2019 for an initial two-year term, and may be extended by the DfT for a further two year term in 12-month increments. The STAR Two framework will support the DfT's commitment to deliver infrastructure projects across road, rail and aviation sectors.
The framework will enable the DfT to access high quality, professionally qualified and experienced specialist third party advisory support on a call-off basis for a range of service requirements.
Costain will be providing specialist consultancy advice in five of the categories under Lot 1 to meet the Department for Transport's emerging service requirements and provide support to the strategic development and delivery of major investment programmes.
Ian Parker, managing director, transportation said: "This framework award recognises the broad expertise and strategic skills Costain brings to transportation advisory. We look forward to working with the Department of Transport to support the strategic development and delivery of major investment programmes and thereby helping to shape future infrastructure in the UK."
