Leading UK multi-functional contractor VolkerLaser has strengthened its team with a new operations director.

Experienced construction professional Andy Gibbons takes on the role following stints at McAlpine, Birse, and EDF, as well as VolkerFitzpatrick.

He has worked on a number of high profile projects, including the Channel Tunnel, High Speed One, Pitsea Flyover, Athletes Village Roads and Theale Rail Bridge.

As operations director, Andy will be working with the divisional directors to ensure the business continues to develop across all sectors.

Commenting on his new role, Andy said: "Joining VolkerLaser is the perfect role for me. I have joined a company that I know and have respect for. I know a lot of the people here and have enjoyed working with them in the past. The role gives me a new challenge, utilising my skills to help raise the bar at VolkerLaser, which will lead to new opportunities and challenges for all those already here, so they can progress further with the company."

VolkerLaser operates under the umbrella of construction and civil engineering group VolkerWessels UK.
