M25 Junction Upgrades To Undergo Examination

Plans to improve the M25 J10/A3 Wisley Interchange in southern England have moved a step closer.

The Planning Inspectorate will now look over the plans after the Highways England application was accepted for examination. A decision will be made over the 28 days.

If accepted, this project would allow free-flowing movement in all directions located in the M25 Junction 10, near Wisley, Surrey and A3 between Cobham/Byfleet and Ripley/Ockham.

Sarah Richards, Chief Executive of The Planning Inspectorate said: "After careful consideration, we have decided the application submitted by Highways England meets the required tests set out in the legislation to be accepted for examination.

"This does not mean that consent will be given for the project to go ahead. The Examining Authority can now begin to make arrangements for the formal examination of the application."

She added: "A major priority for us over the next few weeks is to ensure that the people and communities who may be affected by this proposal have the opportunity to give us their views."
