The first phase of works on the new £58 million Nottingham City Hub has been successfully completed.

This Nottingham College development will house up to 2,000 students every year, providing high-quality college and community facilities, as well as a Grade A business centre to encourage the formation of new start-ups and better collaboration between students and employers.

Designed by Bond Bryan Architects, the facility will also feature a new performing arts space, student retail outlet, café and training restaurant and bar, as well as delivering improved education and skills resources to the wider community.

International property and construction consultancy Gleeds also served as cost manager and project monitor on the scheme.

Staff and students from Nottingham College joined representatives from Nottingham City Council and D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to celebrate the completion of the building's structural frame.

The development is being built on an area of disused brownfield land next to the into Broadmarsh Centre on Canal Street.

The Nottingham City Hub is expected to be fully operational by September 2020.
