VolkerWessels UK To Compete For Seven British Construction Accolades

VolkerWessels UK has been shortlisted for seven different prizes at this year's annual British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA).

The prestigious awards have been running for over 32 years and seek to recognise and reward excellence in project delivery and delivery of outcomes for society.

The firm's engineering and construction business, VolkerFitzpatrick, will compete in three categories, with two projects shortlisted in the Transport Project of the Year category - Ely Southern Bypass and Hackney Wick Station.

bmv, a BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and VolkerFitzpatrick joint venture, has also successfully been shortlisted in a further two categories for work on the M5 Oldbury Viaduct.

The Dover Western Docks Revival scheme, a joint venture between VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster - VSBW, has been shortlisted in the Transport Project of the Year category. In addition, two VBA projects, Ipswich Tidal Barrier and Morecambe Wave Wall, have also been shortlisted for the Climate Resilience Project of the Year award.

Site visits will take place over the next few months to determine the winning projects.

The winners will be announced at the BCI awards evening on Wednesday 09 October at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
