Interserve has secured a newly coveted award for its work using building information management (BIM) in the water sector.
The firm won the Outstanding Achievement Award in Digital Delivery in the inaugural BIM4Water Awards.
They were named alongside partners Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) and engineering group Wood for their forward-thinking approach to data collection.
BIM4Water's awards celebrate digital transformation and building information management (BIM) in the water sector. BIM4Water is a cross-industry group open to all organisations involved in the management and delivery of water and wastewater assets.
While many organisations focus on adding data to 3D representations, the Interserve team recognised the limitations of this approach.
Working with industry supply chain partners the team collaboratively developed a simple but highly effective information and data capture method that has been freely shared with the BIM4Water members and the UK BIM Alliance.
A warehouse of data was created to monitor and manage Northumbrian Water's entire infrastructure and assets saving costs and resources.
The award was presented at the Pump Centre Water Equipment Show held at the International Centre, Telford.
