Construction firm Mace has secured the latest international Building Information Modelling (BIM) standard.
The firm was named among the first in the world to achieve the ISO 19650 BIM accreditation.
The new accreditation, approved by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) in December 2018, is an international version of the current UK 1192 standards and the UK Government's BIM Level 2 mandate.
It will enable Mace to demonstrate compliance with BIM standards internationally. It provides an assurance to clients that Mace is able to provide effective and compliant BIM services anywhere around the world.
BIM allows for increased efficiencies and performance across the whole life-cycle of a built environment asset. By managing information through a shared digital model, it helps to facilitate design, construction, maintenance and finally the de-commissioning processes. BIM is a process supported by technology and software that can take several different forms.
