Sika Launches All-In-One Repair Mortar

Sika has introduced MonoTop®-412 N, an all-in-one repair mortar ideal for a range of concrete-based repairs.

The new solution increases the bearing capacity of vital infrastructure such as buildings, bridges and tunnels. Sulphate-resistant and fibre-reinforced, this high-performance system offers a one hit solution when embedding galvanic anodes. Due to its low resistivity figure Sika MonoTop®-412 N is fully compatible with Sika Galvashield XP Anodes. With an extremely favourable high-yield (up to 13.7 litres per 25kg bag). Its cost-effectivity is reinforced by eliminating the need to adjust consistency in order to build layers. In addition, the low-shrinkage system negates the need for a bonding primer, even when manually applied.

Jamie Squires, Product Manager at Sika, said: "We are delighted to introduce this superb repair innovation to the construction sector. Our daily lives depend on the structural integrity of concrete buildings such as tunnels, bridges and the like being upheld. Sika MonoTop®-412 N simplifies the repair of such infrastructure, allowing a greater layer thickness and negating the need for a separate embedding mortar when the application of an anodic system is required, thus ensuring renovation time and cost is kept to a minimum."

Sika MonoTop®-412 N meets the requirement of class-R4 of EN 1504-3. Hand or machine applied, 50mm of product can be installed in one layer. The system does not require a bonding primer, even when manually applied.

Additional benefits such as low permeability and an A1 fire rating, make Sika MonoTop®-412 N the ideal embedding mortar for contaminated or carbonated concrete replacement.
