BAM Construction has secured a contract to refurbish an empty office site in Bradford.

The £10.5 million project will see a 1980s office block and its adjoining conference centre transformed into new facilities for the Bronte Girls Academy.

The 5,000m² teaching and sports facilities will provide room for 600 girls aged 11-16.

The architects for the new school are Bond Bryan and Leeds-based G&H Group will deliver the mechanical and electrical works.

It's been especially pleasing for us to have had such a big role in developing the city's educational institutions, and to see its young people become the city's new workforce. We have already established a strong partnership with the Trust and are enjoying working with them."

BAM plans to hand over the building in time for the start of September's academic term.
