Caddick Construction is to transform York's former Hudson House into a new multi-million pound development.

The £35 million Hudson Quarter mixed-use development will include 127 apartments, 34,500 sq ft of Grade-A office space, 5,000 sq ft of other commercial uses and car parking located in four buildings around a landscaped garden.

Owner Palace Capital plc selected Caddick to deliver the scheme, with site preparations scheduled to begin next week.

Andrew Murray, Managing Director of Caddick Construction, said: "This is a prestigious development in the heart of York city centre so we feel very privileged to be part of this development. The Caddick team is looking forward to the next two years where we will see new life being breathed into Hudson Quarter.

"Its location is unique and very sustainable with its close proximity to the train station; it all bodes well for the community that is going to put its roots down here which is important for future prosperity of the city centre and its residents."

Sales on the luxury apartments in Hudson Quarter will be launched later this year.

The entire development is scheduled for completion in 2021.
