Manchester's Outwood Wharf has reached a key milestone, as the final beam was laid on the housing development.
A topping out ceremony was held yesterday, 06 February, to celebrate the landmark moment.
The 253-home Salford development is a mix of apartments and townhouses across 18 storeys.
Contractor H&J Martin is delivering the scheme on behalf of Outwood Developments and Invesco Real Estate.
The firm is also utilising off-site prefabrication on the build, with 3,064 precast units designed and installed by SCC Design Build. The brick façade is cast onto the concrete panels and the windows are fitted and glazed in the SCC factory. The final pieces were installed during the topping out ceremony.
Jonathan Gwynne, Director of Outwood Developments Ltd and John German, Senior Director – Residential Investments, Invesco Real Estate, commented: "Invesco Real Estate and Outwood Developments congratulate H&J Martin and SCC on topping out Outwood Wharf. The H&J Martin team have capitalised fully the benefits offered to both build programme and environment by the SCC system."
The entire structure was completed across 10 months, with the fit out and installation of kitchens, bathrooms and joinery now to take place in the building.
Work is scheduled for completion on the scheme in Summer 2019.
