The British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) has joined forces with Lancaster University with the signing of a Mutual Co-operation Agreement.

Both organisations will collaborate to create ideas and opportunities around the development of improved skills and enhanced technology understanding across the wider pump using industry.

Additional content will also be explored to strengthen the BPMA's existing range of training courses, and the scope for funded collaboration evaluated across a range of technologies pertinent to pump systems engineering.

Professor George Aggidis PhD said: "By aligning the respective strengths of engineering academia and commercial enterprise, jointly delivered 'added value' services can be determined for the mutual benefit of members, students and stakeholders alike. I am thrilled that we have this agreement in place and excited by the potential activities that the collaboration could deliver."

Steve Schofield, BPMA Director and CEO, added: "Having previously worked with Professor Aggidis whilst he was active in industry, I am delighted to have the opportunity to extend our working relationship and to have our respective organisations seek collaborative initiatives."
