Busy Bristol Route Undergoes Upgrade Work

Upgrade work has commenced on a busy Bristol road to reduce journey times.

An inbound bus lane will be built along Anchor Road, and will be shared with other authorised road users.

The project aims to improve bus punctuality and journey times for all commuters.

Enhanced cycling and walking routes will also delivered as part of the work.

Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol said: "This is one of the city's busiest commuter routes and it's important that this work takes place to improve bus journey time and reliability. It is only by offering an alternative that we will reduce congestion and air pollution. The work is part of the Better Bus Area Fund which aims to improve and increase the use of public transport in Bristol."

It is expected to take approximately five months to complete.
