Local Wimbledon students have helped celebrate a significant milestone in ISG's Wellington House project.

The Wimbledon High School pupils joined the project team to celebrate the topping out of the development.

The project has involved the demolition of existing cores and facades and an extension to the rear of the building, as well as the development of an additional storey and new façade and cores.

Columbia Threadneedle asset manager, Alex Brouwer, tightened the final bolt on the five-storey building's steel frame before being presented with a certificate to mark the project milestone.

Guests and Wimbledon students were invited to tour the site shortly after the ceremony and the following day.

ISG's senior project manager, Tony Phillips, said: "The last two days have been a great showcase for the Wellington House project. 

"From Columbia Threadneedle tightening the last bolt at our topping out to aspiring engineers from Wimbledon High School joining us to learn about structural engineering and tour the site, overall it has been an excellent two days for all involved."


Wellington House is due for completion May 2019.
