A major new residential development in Maidenhead has taken a major step forward with a new appointment.
Developer HUB will take forward 'The Landing' development, marking its first project outside of London and first collaboration with landowner Smedvig.
The 3.1 acre development will include apartments, work space, shops and leisure. A central public space – Lantern Circus – will feature a public art centerpiece and will form a link between the station and the existing shopping centre and high street Beyond.
'The Landing' will also benefit from Elizabeth Line services from December 2019.
Robert Sloss, Chief Executive at HUB, said: "HUB has a proven track record of unlocking complex sites within the M25 to deliver high-quality homes and we are excited to bring that experience to this important regeneration project in the centre of Maidenhead. We think Maidenhead's got a lot going for it already, and the arrival of the Elizabeth Line will really put it on the map as an exciting location to live and work. We are also really pleased to be working with Smedvig, a business which we share much with in terms of approach."
Jostein Kalsheim, COO at Smedvig added: "We are very pleased to have appointed HUB as our lead Development Manager for 'The Landing'. We are confident they will strengthen the team, and lead the further development of the project to a successful completion in close co-operation with Smedvig and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead."
Smedvig was originally granted Outline Planning Permission by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead for 'The Landing' in October 2015, with award-winning practice Studio Egret West acting as masterplanner and lead architect.
