Bournemouth Playpark Undergoes £100k Refurb

A new £100,000 refurbishment project has commenced on the Littledown Playpark in Bournemouth.

Bournemouth Borough Council along with operator BH Live will install new equipment in the park, including toddler and junior multiplay units, a carousel, see-saw, slides and two different sets of swings.

Existing seating will also be revamped, as well as the installation of new seating rocks and swan seats.

The project was funded by the council with a £2,200 contribution from the Local Improvement Fund of Littledown Ward Councillors.

Councillor Robert Lawton, Cabinet Member for Housing and Parks, said: "The improvements being made to the Littledown Playpark will continue to make it an exciting place for families with young children to visit. We look forward to this valuable outdoor area being re-opened in the new year."

Mike Lyons, BH Live's Director of Sport and Leisure added: "Littledown Park is a terrific green space for the local community to play, enjoy great events, outdoor sports and be active. It is a much-cherished community asset and we are really excited to see the new play facilities when they open next year."

The project is expected to be completed in 2019.
