Barnsley Council has secured a funding boost to support highway maintenance across the district.
The Department of Transport awarded an additional £1.68 million from the Local Transport Capital Funding for 2018/19 to the council.
The funding will be used to repair potholes, keep bridges and structures open and safe, alongside other minor highway works.
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: "We're pleased to receive more investment to improve Barnsley's roads, which will help us to achieve our existing highways programmes.
"Keeping Barnsley moving is essential to building vibrant and thriving towns as well as making our borough a better place to live, work and visit."
This new funding increases Barnsley Council's two-year investment into highways from £30.4 million to an overall £32 million. It also boosts funding from the Department of Transport from £12.6 million to £14.2 million.
