A four hour fire marshal course has been scheduled to take place in Belfast next month.

Taking place at the Knockbracken Healthcare Centre on Saintfield Road, the course will cover the prevention of fire. It will begin at 9am on Monday 05 November, and finish at 1pm.

Organised by St John Ambulance Northern Ireland, the event will provide an understanding of different types of fire extinguishers and practical training for correct use.

The course content will include:

• Action on discovering a fire

• Common causes of fire

• Fire drills and evacuation

• Fire safety legislation

• Fire safety precautions

• The chemistry of fire

• The role of the fire material

• Using fire extinguishers.

What you will get on the course:

• A pack containing everything you need for this course, including a fire marshal reference guide

• A maximum of 14 delegates per trainer, meaning plenty of one-to-one guidance

• Practice using different kinds of real fire extinguishers.

Successful candidates will receive a St John Ambulance (NI) certificate, valid for three years.

The fee for the course is £68 plus vat per person.
