Rafferty's lightning protection division has been awarded a contract for The Old Hunstanton Lighthouse in Norfolk after it was damaged by a lightning strike in late July.
The contract involves designing, supplying and installing a lightning protection system to the lighthouse and surrounding buildings in accordance with BS EN 62305 requirements.
The damage and subsequent risk of falling brickwork and masonry highlighted the importance of lightning protection systems.
Rafferty's qualified lightning protection engineers will be on site this week installing the new system to ensure that when the next thunderstorm occurs, this iconic structure and its residents will be fully protected.
