New Beaulieu Community Centre Opens In Chelmsford

The new Beaulieu Community Centre in Chelmsford has officially opened its doors.

Local Local MP, Vicky Ford and the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Yvonne Spence, opened the facility in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, 28 September.

Vicky Ford, MP, said: "I am thrilled to have been invited to attend this event and cut the ribbon that officially marks this building open for action. I know how much local residents have been looking forward to having the Community Centre. I hope to have regular links to this Community Centre and with the Beaulieu Community Trust, some of whom are also based here in the Community Centre.

"I am extremely impressed with the consideration and detail that has gone into this facility, from the state-of-the-art Changing Places toilet and well-designed kitchens, to the reception area and interior lift, which make this centre totally accessible for all."

The Mayor of Chelmsford, Yvonne Spence, added: "This Community Centre is going to play a vital part in making Beaulieu a community and I am really glad that I will be playing a role in making that happen. Residents of Beaulieu now have a ready-made local hub on the doorstep where we will have many club and workshops for the local community to get involved in. It is also great that the centre will be the base for church activities."

The centre was delivered by Countryside Zest Limited, a joint venture between Countryside and L&Q.

It is located near the newly opened Beaulieu Park School and forms a key element of the Beaulieu Square neighbourhood centre.

Andrew Carrington, Managing Director of Strategic Land at Countryside, said: "We have been involved in designing a building that will be the most accessible publicly hireable facility in Chelmsford. This makes the Beaulieu Community Centre unique and I believe it will bring many residents, both young and old, together to form relationships that will last a lifetime."

Craig Luttman, Regional Managing Director – Counties, at L&Q commented: "This exciting venture is a culmination of many stakeholders coming together to use their expertise to create something exceptional. I look forward to watching the Community Centre mature over the coming months."
