Construction To Restart On £350m Liverpool Hospital

Construction is to restart on the £350 million Liverpool Royal Hospital later this year.

The project stalled following the collapse of PFI contractor Carillion and is scheduled to commence again in November.

The existing PFI agreement will be terminated after the 30 September 'long-stop date'.

The Hospital Company (Liverpool) will hand over its contracts for construction, supply chain and facilities management, to the Trust, over the course of the next few months. It is subject to detailed Government approvals and legal agreements being finalised.

The new Royal Liverpool Hospital is expected to be delivered in 2020.
